I have been involved in founding a new organisation Fund 4 Trees. It has been established to support an annual event – Ride for Research – as a fundraiser for tree research in the UK.
It has a website which was launched this week at: www.Fund4Trees.org.uk. It is being backed by major UK arboricultural organisations and we hope that one day it will help the Ride for Research event grow to emulate the very successful Tour de Trees that in the US raises $500,000 every year for tree research!
The first Ride for Research event was held in 2011. This year there will be two legs: Reading and Birmingham. I will soon be asking my readers for sponsorship, as I will be taking part in the Reading leg in September!
